The expedition is underway!

The latest Students on Ice expedition got underway this week. This time around SOI is exploring the coastline of mainland Nova Scotia, the Bay of Fundy, and the south coast of New Brunswick on their first ever Ocean Conservation Expedition. I'm so excited to have been invited to take part in the final leg of this expedition! I'll join the ship on the south shore on September 25 and will sail with her until the expedition wraps in Mulgrave on September 29.

Polar Prince was docked at the Halifax waterfront earlier today for One Port City Day celebrations. I dropped by for a quick visit.

I'm loving the new livery. Classic "coast guard red" was great, but the blue suits her, don't you think? According to her owners, Miawpukek Horizon, she's sporting a graphene based marine coating that improves fuel efficiency and biodiversity impacts. Snazzy!

Polar Prince was the expedition ship for the historic Canada C3 Expedition in 2017. You can learn about my time aboard her in my C3 blog here: https://canadac3leg2.blogspot.com/2017/07/through-porthole-canada-c3-vessel-polar.html
